• Two of our colleagues from Projects & Deployment department in Gran Canaria will be wearing our brand on their dorsal on 7 April

The four previous editions have consolidated the ‘Canarias7’ as one of the sporting events on the island of Gran Canaria, which will soon hold its fifth edition with a record number of participants. Among the nearly 6,000 participants that the organizers hope to bring together, Dingus will be represented by our Projects&Deployment department companions Abigail Hernandorena and Susana Minguell.

The ‘Carrera de las Empresas’ (Business Race) is a test that Gran Canarian society likes “because of its pleasant and fun character – its forerunners point out – where the stopwatch takes a back seat, as the important thing is to share a different morning with colleagues outside the office. Above all, teamwork is encouraged”.

The race, backed by the first institution on the island (Cabildo de Gran Canaria) and the municipality of Las Palmas, will be held on 7 April. It can be disputed in the category of teams (2, 3 and 4 participants) and individual, open in this case to self-employed, unemployed and students. In addition, and to adapt to the physical conditions of all, two modalities are established: 5 and 10 kilometers. To encourage participation, this year Canarias7 has five ambassadors: Noelia Curbelo (Binter), Magüi Melián (Domingo Alonso), Loli Saavedra (Disa), Alfredo Montes (Mapfre) and Sergio Durán (Cajamar), as well as the official Gran Canaria chronicler and running enthusiast Juan José Laforet, as patron.

In its most supportive facet, part of the proceeds from the registrations will go to the Canarian Foundation Yrichen, which for more than 25 years works in the care and insertion of people in social exclusion, especially with cases arising from addictions.

We are convinced that the couple representing Dingus will reach the finish line, but given the characteristics of the Canarias7, they are already the champions of the company for participating. Come on Dingus, come on!
