What to expect for the remainder of 2022 in the Caribbean

Hotel sales figures from our Dingus®DataHotel platform in the Caribbean area, where we connect 240 establishments, show an increase in bookings of almost 28% and over 45% for stays. Both October and November already exceed the 2021 figures: 51.9% this month and almost 15% next month. In September, the comparative margin of increase was 72.2% more than last year.

December is now 13.7% lower than a year earlier, but the Booking Window trend from 31 to 90 days is increasing, so it is likely that the result for the last month will also be positive.

Moreover, in the last quarter the trends are as follows:

  • sales channel: TTOO 7%, OTA 29.6% and booking engine 25.6%.
  • distribution rooms: double 68%, couple+child 4%, single 7.6%
  • Booking Window: 31-90 days 9%, 3-6 months 28.3% and 6-12 months 20.9%. A further 11.6% are buying between 8 and 30 days before the stay
  • length of stay: 3-7 nights 3%, 8-14 nights 15.5%

Cancellations are stable for the period analysed, with an average of 34% and similar percentages across all types of hotels and resorts connected to Dingus®.
